The DNS system executes all payment transactions at the amount lower than the minimum value of payment transactions that have to be processed in the RTGS system, determined by the regulation adopted by the CBCG.

Basic characteristics of processing payment transactions in the DNS system:

• Banks are the only participants in the DNS system;

• Have to be participants in the RTGS system;

• Use of multilateral scheme of reducing mutual obligations to net level;

• Settlement of net positions is done in the RTGS system;

• Three clearing cycles within a day;

• Use of SWIFT MT102 messages;

• Use of so-called V copy schemes of message processing.
