Fees for Services Related to a Consumer Payment Account

Published data on fees for services related to a payment account are intended for consumers.

The data includes comparable applicable fees for the most frequently used payment services, i.e. the most representative services related to a consumer's payment account in Montenegro, exposing consumers to the highest total or individual cost.

Under Article 14 of the Law on Comparability of Fees Related to Consumer Payment Accounts, Payment Accounts Switching and Payment Account with Basic Features (OGM 145/2021), the CBCG publishes the comparable data on fees charged by banks to consumers for at least the services included in the list of the most representative services. By publishing comparable data on fees, consumers can compare the offers of different banks and practically decide which payment account best suits their needs.

Under the Decision on Presentation and Format of the Fee Information Document for the Most Representative Services Linked to a Consumer Payment Account banks have to prepare the Informative Document on the fees for the most representative services related to the payment account (Information document on the fees). The informative document on fees contains a list of services from the list of the most representative services offered by the bank and data on individual fees and interest for each service.

Banks must submit to the CBCG data on fees for services related to the consumer's payment account, i.e., the Informative Document on Fees and its amendments, by three days from its creation, which the CBCG publishes on its website.

Published data allows consumers to view and compare fees for services related to a payment account or service packages of each bank and compare different banks based on individual services related to a consumer's payment account. Overview 1 contains all valid Informative documents on the fees of all banks in the Montenegrin market. Overview 2 enables the comparability of fees for the most commonly used payment services related to a payment account or package.

Overview 1. Informative documents on fees on the Montenegrin market

Overview 2. of comparative data on fees for services associated with a payment account (package)

The CBCG regularly updates the submitted Informative Documents on fees and prepares and updates data on fees in comparative overviews based on the data submitted by the banks who are responsible for their accuracy. More detailed information on all fees charged by banks to consumers is available on the banks' premises and their websites.
