Resolution Tools
The Central Bank applies the following resolution tools to credit institutions in resolution:
- the sale of business tools, which covers the process of transferring individual business lines, shares or other instruments of ownership issued by a credit institution under resolution, or assets, rights or liabilities of a credit institution under resolution to a purchaser that is not a bridge credit institution;
- the bridge credit institution tool, which covers the process of transferring shares or other instruments of ownership issued by a credit institution under resolution or assets, rights or liabilities of a credit institution under resolution to a bridge credit institution;
- the asset separation tool, which covers the process of transferring assets, rights or liabilities of a credit institution under resolution to an asset management company; and
- the bail-in tool, which covers the process of effecting the exercise by a resolution authority of the write down and conversion powers in relation to liabilities of a credit institution under resolution.
