The purchase of Deutsch Mark banknotes and coins is performed only by the CBCG, according to the exchange rates set by the European Central Bank as at 1 January 2002 (Decision on Detailed Requirements and Manner of Performing Bureau De Change Operations, OGM 27/11).

To purchase other currencies from the Euro Area, the Central Bank charges a fee determined by the Decision on Determining Tariff for Calculating Fees Charged for the Central Bank of Montenegro Services (OGM 29/11, 22/12, 58/13, 12/14, 22/14, 48/14, 32/15, 15/17, 18/17, 24/18, 109/21).
