In 2007, the CBCG established the Annual Award for the best graduate, master and doctoral theses in banking and monetary policy and theory. The Award is bestowed every year at a ceremony held on the Central Bank of Montenegro Day, celebrated on 11 April.

The Annual CBCG award was established to make this institution an active participant in raising awareness about the importance of developing and fostering scientific and professional research related to banking, monetary policy and theory in Montenegro.

Since 2023, the CBCG has been awarding the CBCG Green Award for the best paper on climate change’s effects on the financial system. The Green Award is presented to celebrate the Ecological State of Montenegro Day, 20 September.

CBCG’s activities on combating climate change have been defined by the Central Bank of Montenegro Policy Related to Climate Change Challenges, which will be implemented through the Action Plan for its implementation from 2023 to 2026.

By initiating and implementing these actions, the CBCG endeavours to contribute to developing scientific research and the affirmation of professionals in Montenegro, thus confirming its responsible attitude towards the community in which it operates.
