On the occasion of celebrating the centenary jubilee of minting the first Montenegrin Government coins, the Central Bank of Montenegro issued commemorative Montenegrin coins which are replicas of the original money of the Kingdom of Montenegro and bears the mark of the year 2006.

The collection of commemorative Montenegrin coins is established in accordance with the Decision on the Establishment of a Collection of Commemorative Montenegrin Coins (OGM 31/06).
