Scholarship Contest for the study year 2024/2025
Pursuant to Articles 45 paragraph 2 point 12 and 65 paragraph 2 of the Central Bank of Montenegro Law (OGM 40/10, 6/13, 70/17, 125/23), following its business needs, the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) proudly announces
SCHOLARSHIP CONTEST
for the study year 2024/2025
This prestigious programme offers the total of ten scholarships of 550.00 euros net per month to the most talented students in their final years of undergraduate and master’s studies at universities in Montenegro. Scholarships are intended for faculty students of economics, law, computing, mathematics and information technology who can contribute to the development of our institution and society with their knowledge and skills.
All expressions below used in the masculine gender shall also refer to those in the feminine gender.
Students participating in the Competition must meet the following criteria:
- be Montenegrin citizens;
- be regular students at one of the universities in Montenegro, attending the final year of undergraduate or master studies in the year of receiving the scholarship;
- be students of the faculties of economics, law, computing, mathematics and information technology;
- do not have previous work experience in the higher education degree of qualification;
- are younger than 30 years old and have no relatives employed in the CBCG up to the third degree of consanguinity or the second degree of in-law kinship.
Students who receive scholarships from another scholarship provider may also apply for the Contest, provided that, if selected and at the CBCG request, they renounce that scholarship, especially if they have to be employed by another employer.
Applications from students with inactive student status will not be considered.
HOW TO APPLY
Applications for the Contest will be made by completing the online Application Form, available at the CBCG web page titled “AcKnowledge the Knowledge – a Chance for the Best”, CBCG scholarships contest for the academic year 2024/2025 by 20 July 2024 the latest.
Applications submitted after the deadline will not be considered.
Selection procedure
Scholarship recipients shall be selected by the Commission formed by the CBCG Governor.
After the deadline for submitting applications, the Commission will process all applications received.
Based on online applications and according to the defined criteria for awarding scholarships, shortlisted candidates will be obliged to submit the following documentation:
- a certified copy of the identity card;
- proof of regular studies and achieved grade point average during studies;
- proof of passed exams from previous study years;
- proof of Montenegrin citizenship;
- proof of awards won at national and/or international competitions;
- statement of not having relatives in the kinship degrees specified above employed in the CBCG.
The required documents shall be submitted to the CBCG Archive on working days from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. or by mail to the address:

within two working days from the date of inviting the candidate and sending the request to the candidate by email.
The relevant deadline for sending documentation by post will be the date of delivery of the parcel at the post office.
The number of scholarships awarded and the scholarship areas of study will be determined after the selection process is completed, following the CBCG business needs.
The decision on the CBCG scholarship award “AcKnowledge the Knowledge – a Chance for the Best” will be published on the CBCG website.
All participants will be informed in writing about the contest result within 60 days from the day of concluding the contest.
Criteria for awarding scholarships:
- attending a study program that corresponds to the CBCG business needs and priorities;
- grade point average during studies;
- passed all exams from the previous study years;
- results achieved during the selection process;
- awards won at national and/or international competitions;
- social engagement through work in student or other organisations that nurture diversity and inclusion, and engage in activities for the common good;
- active knowledge of the English language.
Obligations of the selected scholarship holders:
- submission of the faculty’s confirmation of regular enrolment in each subsequent semester;
- completion of studies on the enrolled study programme no later than six months after the end of the last enrolled semester or the previous enrolled study year;
- If, following business needs, the CBCG has open job positions that match the educational profiles of the scholarship holders, the scholarship holders shall establish an employment relationship with the CBCG as interns after completing the studies. After that, if there is still a business need, scholarship holders must continue employment at the CBCG for at least one year;
- If the scholarship holders refuse work at the CBCG without a valid reason or do not remain employed for at least one year after the internship, they shall return the amount received for the paid scholarships.
Obligations of the CBCG:
- the payment of a monthly scholarship of 550.00 euros (net), the latest on the 15th day of the month for the previous month, starting from 1 October 2024 to 30 September 2025, i.e. during the entire period for which the Scholarship Agreement was signed between the CBCG and the scholarship recipient;
- facilitating student internships at the CBCG following the CBCG’s possibilities and needs of its operations;
- facilitating the performance of an internship at the CBCG in accordance with the CBCG’s possibilities and business needs;
- Enabling the best scholarship holders to participate in the CBCG Talent Programme in the future, following the CBCG’s possibilities and needs for its operations.
