Rector of the University of Montenegro, Mr Vladimir Božović and the CBCG Governor, Ms Irena Radović, signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) today. The MoU represents a framework for long-term cooperation, focusing on improving education, research, and innovation in areas significant to the Montenegrin economy.

Rector Božović highlighted the importance of linking academia with Montenegro’s supreme monetary institution and emphasised that cooperation with the CBCG is an exceptional opportunity to improve the University’s research and educational capacities in areas of strategic importance for Montenegro’s economic development.

“This MoU is more than a formal framework for cooperation - it opens the door for concrete projects and initiatives enabling our students and researchers to actively participate in developing new knowledge and solving current challenges, especially in financial technologies and the green economy,” Božović said.

The CBCG Governor of the CBCG emphasised that signing the MoU enables a direct exchange of knowledge and innovations between academia and the financial sector. “More than ever, financial literacy and awareness of global economic flows play a key role in shaping our future today. Therefore, we must work together to educate new generations who will understand modern financial systems’ complexity and be able to actively contribute to our society’s development through innovation, research and responsible management”, said Radović. She added that this MoU will allow students to get directly involved in the work of the CBCG through professional practice programmes and research projects.

Moreover, this MoU foresees organising international conferences and symposia and publishing scientific and professional publications of importance to academia and the general public. A special focus will be on integrating digital technologies in finance and economy and strengthening capacities in educational programmes that meet the labour market needs.

This cooperation is expected to bring numerous benefits, both at the institutional level and for the wider community, through the education system’s improvement, innovation in the financial sector and support for Montenegro’s sustainable development.
