The CBCG Governor Irena Radović met with the Director of the Centre of Excellence in Finance (CEF), Jana Repanšek, to discuss the priorities for future cooperation between the CBCG and the CEF.
They reviewed the CBCG’s participation in CEF programmes to date and future cooperation priorities, particularly in light of Montenegro’s European Union accession process and the CBCG’s increasingly intensive alignment with European central banking standards.
In this context, Governor Radović highlighted a clear intention to transform the CBCG in line with the Needs Assessment project, which represents an important framework for further improving the institution’s organisation, processes and working methods, with the aim of achieving full institutional and operational readiness for European integration.
Governor Radović noted that cooperation with the CEF contributes to strengthening the CBCG’s professional and institutional capacities through the continuous exchange of knowledge, experience and international best practices, which is of particular importance during the reform implementation phase and the process of further alignment with the ESCB standards.
The meeting also addressed the forthcoming CEF Governing Board meeting and the CEF Forum, to be held in Skopje, which will provide an opportunity to exchange views on current challenges and the future development prospects of central banks and other institutions in the region.
The CEF is an international institution based in Ljubljana, serving as a regional hub for knowledge exchange and promoting the development of capacities among public officials and institutions in South-East Europe.
