CKB Bank’s sound operations are important for the entire banking sector

The Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG), Radoje Žugić, met with the representatives of Crnogorska Komercijalna Banka’s (CKB) Supervisory Board – Daniel Gyuris, President, and Igor Noveljić, member, and the Chairperson of the Bank’s Managing Board - Tamás Kamarási.

Commending the quality of the Montenegrin regulatory framework governing banking operations and its compliance with European standards, President Gyuris pointed out that CKB has the strong support of the parent OTP group to strengthen its position in the Montenegrin banking market further. In this direction, the plans for the next period relate to further business improvement, primarily through investing in technology to improve and modernise services, especially for the households sector.


The interlocutors stated that CKB Bank successfully managed the problem of official position abuse by some employees by compensating every determined damage to clients without adverse effects on the bank’s stability and business results. CKB Bank meets the statutory requirements concerning liquidity and capitalisation.


“The stability of CKB Bank’s operations is particularly important as it is a systemically important and the largest bank in Montenegro according to all business indicators,” said Governor Žugić.


Continuous and substantive communication between the CBCG and the CKB is an excellent example of effective cooperation between the supervisor and a commercial bank and of complete operational transparency, it was concluded at today’s meeting.
