21/02/2024

Within the IPA regional project “Programme for Strengthening the Central Bank Capacities in the Western Balkans with a view to the Integration to the European System of Central Banks - Phase II”, the CBCG and the Bank of Italy started bilateral activities in cloud computing with a two-day visit by the Bank of Italy’s experts.

During the previous two days, the first of three planned bilateral visits within this project activity was in Podgorica, aiming to implement cloud solutions in transforming the CBCG information system following modern technical and security standards.

The Bank of Italy experts presented modern technological solutions for applying cloud technologies and cloud-based systems and services within the Bank of Italy’s information system to their CBCG colleagues. On the other hand, the CBCG representatives explained to the Central Bank of Italy’s colleagues the characteristics and peculiarities of the CBCG information system and the current legislation to analyse the best modalities for applying cloud-based technologies.

Cooperation with the Bank of Italy, a member of the European System of Central Banks (ESCB), is crucial for the CBCG, especially in improving work and internal processes and further harmonising the regulatory and operational framework with the European Union’s central banking standards.
