CBCG initiates signing of the MoU on implementing the Programme for Financial Education Development in Montenegro 2023–2027

The Memorandum of Understanding on Implementing the Programme for Financial Education Development in Montenegro 2023–2027 was signed by 16 institutions.


The development programme that the Financial Stability Council adopted in July 2022 is a strategic document intended to raise the Montenegrin population's financial literacy. It provides guidelines for implementing specific financial education activities.


To ensure an efficient platform for networking efforts, exchange of information and coordination of activities on improving financial literacy, the CBCG initiated the signing of this MoU. Other signatory parties include the Ministry of Finance, Capital Market Authority, Insurance Supervision Agency, Ministry of Education, Association of Montenegrin Banks, Chamber of Commerce of Montenegro, Deposit Protection Fund, Montenegro Stock Exchange AD Podgorica, Central Clearing and Depository Company, Faculty of Electrical Engineering of the University of Montenegro, Faculty of Economics of the University of Montenegro, Faculty of Economics and Business of the University of the Mediterranean, Faculty of International Economics, Finance and Business of the University Donja Gorica, Faculty of Information Systems and Technologies of the University Donja Gorica and Faculty of Business Economics and Law Bar.


As the coordinator of implementing the Programme for Financial Education Development in Montenegro 2023–2027, the CBCG invites all stakeholders – state and local government institutions, financial institutions, the academia, the private sector, NGOs and other organisations – to join the Memorandum and become part of the team working in favour of the Montenegrin citizens' financial literacy.
