CBCG donates 60,000 euros to help Ukrania’s endangered and displaced population

The Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG) will donate 60,000 euros to help the endangered and displaced population of Ukraine, the CBCG Governor Radoje Žugić announced today at a meeting with the charge d’affaires at the Embassy of Ukraine in Montenegro, Natalija Fijalka.
At today’s meeting, it was agreed to pay 30,000 euros of the total amount to the giro account of the Montenegrin Red Cross to help the endangered population of Ukraine. As agreed, the remaining 30,000 euros will be paid to the Embassy of Ukraine in Montenegro’s account for the needs of the displaced Ukrainian population in Montenegro.
“With this donation, we express solidarity with the Ukrainian citizens. We want to support the actions of the Red Cross and the Embassy of Ukraine on mitigating the humanitarian consequences of the conflict in this country,” said Governor Žugić.
Ms Fijalka thanked for the help and pointed out that the Ukrainian people highly appreciate the understanding and support coming intensively from various addresses in Montenegro these days.
During the meeting, they discussed the operations of Zapad banka, which is majority-owned by Ukrainian citizens. They stated that the bank operates safe and sound and recorded a slight increase in deposits.
The Vice Governors Zorica Kalezić and Miodrag Radonjić also attended the meeting.
