CBCG Council Meeting in New Composition

The meeting of the Council of the Central Bank of Montenegro held today was chaired by the Governor, Irena Radović.
Today’s meeting marked the initiation of the Council’s work in the new composition, as the newly appointed external members of the Council attended the meeting for the first time: Tamara Backović, Srđan Milić, Šućo Orahovac, and Ismet Hadžić.
On this occasion, the Governor welcomed the newly appointed members and wished them professional success, emphasizing the importance of their role in further strengthening of the institutional framework and decision-making towards the stability of the financial system. The newly appointed members of the Council expressed their determination to contribute to the work of the Council and to the achievement of the CBCG goals through responsible, dedicated, and professional engagement.
Within the agenda item related to regulatory requirements, the Council adopted a decision rejecting the application for the issuance of an operating licence to the credit institution Zeren Bank AD Podgorica. The decision was taken following a conducted procedure which assessed that the applicant had not met the conditions prescribed by law.
At today’s meeting, Šućo Orahovac and Tamara Backović were appointed as members of the Audit Committee from among the Council members who are not employees of the CBCG. The Audit Committee, as a standing body of the CBCG Council, monitors and evaluates the functioning of the internal control system and financial reporting, monitors the compliance of the CBCG operations with the law, other regulations and general acts, and monitors the effectiveness and efficiency of internal audit activities.
The Council also discussed other issues within the competence.
