As of 28 May 2019, central banks of the Eurosystem will put the new Europa series 100 and 200 euro banknotes into circulation. New banknotes of this series have been introduced gradually over the last few years from smaller to larger denominations, thus the 5, 10, 20, and 50 euro banknotes had been introduced earlier. 

The design of the new banknotes has been refreshed and they contain new and improved security features (satellite hologram and improved emerald number), which increased their protection from counterfeiting. In addition to security features for wider public, the new banknotes contain new improved security features for their authentication using devices.

We note that the banknotes of the first series shall remain the legal tender as well as in circulation until further notice.
