National Committee for the Development of Financial Education Adopts the Action Plan for 2025

The National Committee for the Development of Financial EducationA session held its meeting today chaired by the CBCG Governor, Ms Irena Radović. Ms Anđela Jakšić Stojanović, Minister of Education, Science and Innovation, Mr Željko Drinčić, President of the Capital Market Authority, and Mr Marko Ivanović, President of the Insurance Supervisory Agency Council, the Committee members, attended the meeting.
At the meeting, the members unanimously adopted the Financial Education Action Plan for 2025, containing a series of measures and activities to improve financial literacy in Montenegro. The plan results from the joint work of representatives of 22 institutions from the public, private and NGO sectors that the CBCG, as the national coordinator of these activities, gathered around implementing the Programme for Financial Education Development in Montenegro 2023–2027.
The key activities of the Action Plan for 2025 include organising educational campaigns and workshops for different target groups, with a focus on children and youth; developing and distributing educational materials; integrating financial education into school programs; celebrating traditional events such as Global Money Week and Savings Week, and supporting entrepreneurs through specialised financial education programmes.
At the meeting, they highlighted the project “Robotics for the Youngest”, an example of a successful inter-institutional partnership of the CBCG, the Ministry of Education, Science and Innovation and the Innovation Fund. Through this project, that combines innovative methods and financial education, all elementary schools in Montenegro will receive educational robots in the coming weeks. Interactive programming activities will help children acquire basic financial knowledge and develop key skills for the future.
In addition to the “Robotics for the youngest” project and the traditional campaigns it implements, the CBCG will support the organisation of the Economic Olympiad and a series of activities to improve financial literacy, including workshops, podcast series, online courses and campaigns on social networks during 2025.
Minister Jakšić Stojanović informed about intensive activities to equip all schools in Montenegro with modern IT equipment, the basis for better education, aimed to strengthen the economic development of Montenegro. She also highlighted that the Ministry will provide all necessary support in implementing the Action Plan to ensure its success.
The President of Capital Market Authority, Željko Drinčić, announced numerous activities in financial education in 2025, primarily aimed at children and young people, through developing and implementing innovative initiatives.
In addition to other activities of the Agency in financial education, the President of the Insurance Supervision Agency Council, Marko Ivanović, particularly noted the creation of a themed AI chatbot that will provide citizens with answers to all insurance-related questions.
The Governor thanked the Committee members for their previous work, proactive approach and commitment to improving financial literacy, expressing her belief that the number of institutions involved in financial education activities will expand in the coming period and that new initiatives will be launched to jointly contribute to the comprehensive strengthening of citizens’ awareness and knowledge about the importance of responsible financial management.
