The CBCG Governor Irena Radović, opened the international seminar titled From Assurance to Influence: Empowering Internal Auditors as Trusted and Strategic Advisors, organised by the CBCG in partnership with De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB). The seminar is taking place in Podgorica from 6 to 8 October 2025, bringing together internal auditors and members of audit committees from central banks belonging to the IMF’s Belgium–Dutch Constituency, and other partner central banks.
The seminar focuses on key topics of importance for modern internal auditing, including data use and analysis, risk identification and monitoring, the application of advanced artificial intelligence tools, and issues of ethics and integrity. It aims to strengthen the role of internal audit as a trusted and strategic advisor within central banks—one that contributes to enhancing corporate governance, improves risk control, and supports informed strategic decision-making.
In her opening remarks, Governor Radović highlighted the importance of advancing internal audit practices and international cooperation.
“The organisation of this seminar reaffirms the CBCG’s commitment to strengthening the role of internal audit and promoting best practices in this area,” said the Governor, adding that internal audit is a key factor in risk management, strategic decision-making, and supporting the sustainable development of organisations.
Bringing together representatives of 18 central banks, the seminar serves as a unique platform for experience exchange, discussion of challenges and innovations in internal auditing, and networking among experts from different jurisdictions, with the goal of enhancing the central banks’ resilience and efficiency.
