06/05/2025

The CBCG Governor, Irena Radović, met today with Veljko Milonjić, who will soon take on the role the duties of Ambassador of Montenegro to the Republic of Poland. This meeting served as a preparation for his new diplomatic post. It provided an opportunity to exchange opinions on the current and future directions of cooperation between the two countries, especially in the economy.

During their discussion, they reviewed the history of economic cooperation between Montenegro and Poland, emphasising exploring ways to strengthen this partnership.

Governor Radović highlighted the effective cooperation between the CBCG and the Narodowy Bank Polski (NBP), especially within the current EU-financed regional project “Programme for Strengthening the Central Bank Capacities in the Western Balkans with a view to the Integration to the European System of Central Banks”. The cooperation is also present in the regular participation of CBCG employees at seminars and gatherings organised by the NBP, representing a significant contribution to the continuous professional development of the CBCG staff.

Mr. Milonjić expressed his commitment to actively enhancing the economic ties between Montenegro and Poland in his role as ambassador.

The officials agreed that Poland’s current position as the country chairing the Council of the European Union, with a mandate from 1 January to 30 June 2025, presents an additional opportunity to improve cooperation, particularly concerning Montenegro’s European integration efforts.
