Governor Radović meets the Ambassador of Ukraine

The Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro, Ms. Irena Radović, met today with the Ambassador of Ukraine to Montenegro, H.E.Oleg Gerasimenko.

The Ukrainian ambassador congratulated the Governor Radović on her appointment and wished her success in her future work, stressing that “the engagement of the Central Bank is extremely important for Montenegro`s European path”. The ambassador thanked for the assistance that Montenegro continues to provide to Ukraine in the form of political support, the application of restrictive measures against persons from the Russian Federation, and also for receiving and full inclusion of Ukrainian refugees.
The Governor commended the efforts of the National Bank of Ukraine, which have resulted in undisturbed functioning of the banking system that has managed to perform all its functions and properly service citizens and the economy in extremely unfavourable circumstances. “Ensuring the continuity of bank operations and preserving the financial system in extraordinary circumstances is a huge merit of the National Bank of Ukraine,” the Governor Radović noted.
The Governor and the Ambassador also discussed the possibilities of improving the economic cooperation between Ukraine and Montenegro and agreed to intensify communication aimed at concrete cooperation in the areas of mutual interest.
