CBCG Governor meets the World Bank's Country Manager for Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina

"The Central Bank of Montenegro successfully performed its function in the previous period marked by numerous local and global challenges, which resulted in the banking sector's good condition," said the World Bank's Country Manager for Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina, Christopher Sheldon, at today's meeting with the Governor of the Central Bank of Montenegro (CBCG), Radoje Žugić.

At the meeting, they discussed the Country Partnership Framework for Montenegro for the Period FY23-FY27, which is focused on supporting Montenegro’s more sustainable and inclusive growth. The document is expected to be adopted in the first half of next year.


Governor Žugić thanked his interlocutor for the World Bank's support to the CBCG in the form of technical assistance for activities aimed at introducing instant payments and preparing the Law on Digital Assets, as well as for drafting an analysis of payment regulations transposing and Montenegro's readiness for inclusion in the SEPA payment system.


They agreed to continue communication and cooperation to further strengthen the financial sector's resilience and create preconditions for the domestic economy's more dynamic growth.
