Annual CBCG Awards for 2026 Presented

The ceremonial presentation of the Central Bank of Montenegro Annual Award of the for 2026, recognising the best final theses in the fields of banking, monetary policy and theory, was held today, ahead of 11 April, the Day of the CBCG.


The award for the best diploma paper was presented to Milica Uskoković for her paper “Circular Economy and Sustainable Financing in Montenegro: The Role of Banks”, while the awards for the best master’s theses were presented to Aleksandar Kankaraš for his paper “Analysis of the Stability of the Montenegro’s Banking System in the Context of Bankruptcy Levels and Prudential Indicators” and to Jelena Popović for her paper “ESG Practices in the Montenegrin Banking Sector: Analysis of Client Perceptions and Expectations”.


The awards were presented by the CBCG Governor, Irena Radović, Chair of the Annual Award Committee. In addition to commemorative plaques, the recipients were also granted monetary prizes from a prize fund amounting to €3,000 for the best undergraduate thesis and €4,000 for the best master’s thesis.


Speaking about the significance of the award, Governor Radović emphasised that, through this recognition, the CBCG not only rewards academic excellence but also strongly supports knowledge, research and young people as key drivers of the development of a modern and resilient society. She noted that the awarded papers confirm that Montenegro has a generation of young people who, through their knowledge, dedication and responsibility, can contribute to the modernisation of the financial system and the country’s European future.


The CBCG Annual Award was established in 2007 with the aim of encouraging scientific thought and promoting young and highly qualified professionals in Montenegro.
