Ambassador of the Slovak Republic Boris Gandel Visits the CBCG

H.E., the Ambassador of the Slovak Republic to Montenegro, Boris Gandel, visited the CBCG, where he met with Governor Irena Radović.


At the meeting, they discussed the current economic conditions in Montenegro, the state, trends in the banking sector, and the perspectives of further cooperation between the two countries’ central banks.


Governor Radović introduced H.E. Gandel to the CBCG’s strategic directions, including institutional and regulatory reforms that are being implemented to preserve and improve financial stability and harmonise with the European System of Central Banks (ESCB) standards.


During the discussions, they highlighted the successful cooperation of the central banks of Montenegro and Slovakia within the regional project “Programme for Strengthening the Central Bank Capacities in the Western Balkans with a view to the Integration to the European System of Central Banks”. In this context, they accentuated the importance of strengthening the institution’s capacity and professional autonomy in the European integration process.


Ambassador Gandel expressed his support for the reform processes implemented by the CBCG and emphasised the Slovak Republic’s readiness to continue providing expert and institutional support.


The meeting took place in an open and constructive dialogue, with a mutual commitment to further strengthening cooperation between the two countries in monetary and financial policies. Ms Radović and H.E. agreed that Slovakia and Montenegro have excellent and friendly overall relations and bilateral cooperation. There is room for further strengthening of economic ties between the two countries.
