Today, the CBCG signed scholarship contracts with the first generation of university students from Montenegro selected at the AcKnowledge the Knowledge - a Chance for the Best competition.
This May, the CBCG announced a competition for awarding scholarships for the academic year 2024/2025 to the best students in the final years of undergraduate and master’s studies at the faculties of economics, law, computing, mathematics and information technology at universities in Montenegro for the first time.
Handing over the scholarship contracts, the CBCG Governor, Ms Irena Radović, expressed her satisfaction with the CBCG’s opportunity to support students with excellent achievements and ambitions and to encourage them to contribute to the further strengthening of the CBCG as a modern, open, inclusive and dynamic institution. “Attitude towards work, commitment and professional merit are the values on which we continue to build the CBCG, and these were the criteria at the AcKnowledge the Knowledge competition.” The CBCG is working intensively to ensure that all its areas, including institutional transformation, readily welcome Montenegro’s entry into the European Union and the Eurosystem. As the supreme monetary institution, besides fostering expertise and quality, the CBCG is often at the service of other state institutions. As such, it wants to show that only talent, knowledge, effort and vision create strong institutions and contribute to Montenegro’s economic progress. We are proud that the CBCG nurtures the spirit of community and provides an opportunity for young scholarship holders to contribute together with employees to creating a stable, strong Montenegro’s financial system and positioning the CBCG among the central banks of the euro area,” Governor Radović said in her address to CBCG scholarship holders.
A scholarship of 550.00 euros per month was awarded to nine students in their final years of undergraduate and master’s studies: Anđela Iković, Ivana Roganović, Luka Mićović, Mia Sekulović, Milica Rajčić, Nevena Jovanović, Omar Osmanagić, Petar Drašković and Ranka Pejanović.
The evaluated criteria included grade point average during studies, passing all exams from the previous study years, active knowledge of English, awards won at national and/or international competitions, social engagement through work in student organisations or other organisations fostering diversity and inclusion, and engagement in activities for the common good, and that the student attends a programme corresponding to the CBCG’s business needs and priorities.
Following the CBCG’s opportunities and needs, scholarship holders will also have the chance to perform student professional practice and/or internship at the CBCG.
By launching the AcKnowledge the Knowledge - a Chance for the Best scholarship programme, the CBCG aims to support talented and hard-working young people, convey to them the message that knowledge and expertise are values on which the entire society should and must rest, and motivate them to start their careers in one of the most prestigious Montenegro’s institutions.
